They often say that convincing your immediate  family and/ or children to get into your network marketing company is the hardest sale you’ll ever make.  Unless you have already been hugely successful in another such endeavor.. Most of your warm market  will probably not be so eager to jump on your team.  That’s sad.. especially when they are really the ones we want it for, the most. Right?

So why do most direct sales, network marketing companies train new reps to start with their warm market?

• Is it just to get the NO’s behind them?
• Is it to get the new rep good at accepting rejection?
• Perhaps they hope that the first month or two of the new reps launch into network marketing, they will weed out and sever relationships with  the negative people in their lives and move on to the movers and shakers that they know?  .. LOL.

But seriously.. you have to ask,

Why is it, that some of us JUST GET IT… and some don’t. Some of us get it so good; we survive that first month or two of dismal results and keep showing and telling until we get hit the RESIDUAL income mark.

Why is it that the potential and probability of Residual Income can be SO CLEAR, attainable and IGNITE a fire in some of us.. and yet so hard to believe or strive for, to others?  Even when you see it happening right in front of your eyes?  What is that?

You know, Most of us either do or did work 40-60, even 80 hours a week, just to pay the bills.  We say NO to vacations, pinch pennies and stay home.. while our “networking” friends travel, and eat out and do all kinds of fun things with their families.

The sad thing about that.. is that just 10-18 months ago, that same neighbor.. the one that is always throwing luggage in their NEW car, with his kids bouncing around all excited about where they are headed; used to be just like you.  He used to be a great friend.. had a lousy job, just like  you, was overworked, just like you, and  the few hours he had off_  he spent mowing the yard and trying to keep his broken down car running, and complained on Monday.. just like you.

Just 10-18 months ago, he brought over that 20 minute video.  You know the one.. It talked about how great his company was… all the awards and recognition the company had received and how awesome the products were. Then it showed all those happy people talking about how much money they were making and how it had changed their lives. Maybe we watched the whole video.. maybe we didn’t; but we were too tired to be interested, had no time to mess with it, and figured it was a scam or bunch of hype anyway.  So we sent him packing, and felt sorry for the poor fool when he left.

Now… as you watch them back out of the drive way, all happy and waving goodbye; you realize.. he doesn’t have to think about Monday.  He doesn’t even have a regular job any more..  He QUIT, to “work from home” a few months back.  You know.. that guy isn’t even good looking. He doesn’t have talent that you don’t have.. When he started out just a year and a half ago, you probably looked pretty much the same on paper. The only difference between the guy next door and you.. is that he BELIEVED.

He was able to visualize how Residual Income would impact his life.. what he could do with an added 200.00 month.. and then with an added 2000.00 a month; and even an added 20,000 a month.  So he went to work; and spent every spare minute he could.. telling everybody he knew about it.  He GOT IT.

So maybe you didn’t believe.. but somebody did.  In fact, a whole lot of some bodies did.  And now..  they (your soon to be x-neighbors) will be moving to that dream house they are building. You’ve seen the pictures.. it’s out in the country.. with acreage and their own pool, a fishing pond, a big fancy stable and pasture for horses..  Yeah, their kids are gonna love that. So would yours.

Guess that Residual Income thing does work, huh? At least it does, for those who BELIEVE.

I was involved in a fairly major fender bender just the other night.  Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.  From the looks of the damage.. you would have expected much more than the resulting soreness and stiffness.

Having approached a stop light, I was crashed into from behind.  The other driver was young, distracted.. and driving too fast to stop. 

“Typical”!  “Well, there you go..”  have been the responses to the story from others.  Is that the expectation level we want to set for our teens?

My youngest is approaching 16… fast.  She is a good girl, doing well in school and wants her freedom so bad she can taste it.  But, I’ve been reluctant to even let her take drivers ed;  much less get licensed and start driving a car.  She simply has not shown the maturity or ability to handle responsibility enough, to for me  to put her behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.  

Bear with me while I throw in my 2 cents here… I think it is wrong for schools to throw 9th graders in with 10th-12th graders; and I don’t think a license to drive should be dicated by age.

But back to my initial point..  Being in the right place at the right time.  The lady who stopped to render aid, was behind me when this little gal slammed into my car.  She saw the whole thing..  Had she not been there, I could not have even identified the car that hit me; except for all the passers by, who were pointing her out.  She dissappeared as quickly as she hit me; and continued to move away from the accident scene, until her car died down the road.

Seeing that girl reminded the lady who witnessed the accident,  of her own reckless behavior when she was 16.  Her parents had actually taken her car away from her, she said.  She had the opportunity to speak with the mother of that teen and there is no doubt in my mind; that God placed her there for that very reason. 

I didn’t hear the conversation, but I know the girl’s mother was frustrated, just from remarks made at the scene.  This witness had a heart for the girl; and words of truth and encouragement for her mom.  A divine appointment, indeed.

I love when I get to witness God’s divine plan in action.  I love the way he brings people into our lives at just the right moment, to deliver his message to us.  A message that administers hope and illuminates truth.

I hope someone is in the right place at the right time, with just the words you need to hear today.   And I hope God uses you and me in that same way,  today… everyday.

Where did your certainty go…

There must have been some event, some negative experience or injustice that occurred; which caused you to stop believing in yourself.

When was it? What happened?

God instilled in EACH of us the inherit power to achieve, and certainly to believe in our ability to accomplish our goals and dreams.

Somewhere along the way we hit a hiccup, stumbled – or fell. Maybe someone said something, and it was if they had just let all the air out of your tires. Slowly but surely, we have replaced certainty with fear, doubt, apprehension, hesitation and skepticism.

The longer we go without resolving these issues, the less certainty we have and the more paralyzed and powerless we become.

Has it happened to you?
